Young XRAY driver Alberto Fernandez Llata scores a doublet, being declared the actual 1/8TTE Spanish Champion after winning on 24-Oct in Alhama, being proclaimed Murcia´s local champion.
Both races were officially organized by AECAR which celebrated in Spain in this new 1/8 TTE category⦠which seemed to start with a lot of strength and it appears to have a spectacular progression.
1/8 TTE Murcia Local Championship
In the Murcia local championship consisted of nine races starting 28-Jun-2010 (in Elche) and ending on 24-Oct-2010 (in Alhama de Murcia).
Races were held in Alicante (with one race in Elche) and Murcia (consisting of three races in Totana, three in Cehegin, and two in Alhama).

The local course has been really challenging, especially because of the elevated temperatures that we have suffered as well as the racers and their respective cars and organization personnel, suffering temperatures sometimes over 104°F. It has been a decisive test for new mechanicals, speed controls, and electric motors.

The championship has been really tough and emotion was kept in check until the last race, where the only three participants who could claim the title were trying to win the title in this last race. The points spread was very close and in the last race Alberto was pretty confident. He got the pole position, scoring the fastest lap in 52.330 seconds and afterwards winning the two first finals.
With a total of 13 racers, Alberto Fernandez (XRAY) was proclaimed as the Champion with three victories and three 2nd places.

1/8 TTE Spanish Championship
The Spanish Championship took place in Totana - Murcia on 06-Jun-2010 in a whole race. With a total of 20 racers from all over Spain â“ and a great participation by local racers â“ it was a very good weekend of racing.

On Saturday, the majority of racers had been training in the circuit, and everyone was doing timing. Here it showed the high level of driving amongst racers, promising to be a thrilling and very close race.

On Sunday the race track was ready for this important race.
In the three qualifying rounds, Alberto was very fast and scored the fastest lap of 32.814sec.
Unfortunately he had an electronic problem and so he qualified 4th in the A-final.

In the finals he got two 3rd places and won the last final.
